MY NAME IS CATHERINE, BUT YOU CAN CALL ME CAT
In 2018, I applied to be a volunteer clinician that traveled to provide on-site support to autism centers around the world. I was accepted, and faced with the challenge of fundraising $5000 to secure my spot. I had just started practicing calligraphy as a creative outlet from my career, and thought I might be able to incorporate it into my fundraising. What happened next, I could have never expected.
I started offering any calligraphy service in exchange for donations towards my fundraiser. In less than 3 months, I hit my goal and boarded the plane. Upon return, I was invited to continue international work through the Leadership Academy, which required me to fundraise an additional $1000. I met that goal in less than 48 hours (thanks again to calligraphy). I was blown away by the support, but also fired up by the idea that I could serve others with calligraphy.
Now, I help businesses connect with their clients by creating customized experiences through calligraphy. Hire me and my fancy writing skills to treat your clients to a VIP experience they can't wait to share!
My work as a behavior analyst and a calligrapher are not siloed.
As the need for awareness, advocacy, and support continues to grow, and I'm committed to continue showing up for individuals with disabilities.
10% of profits continue to be donated to the Global Autism Project or Eastside Christian Church's Global Compassion Initiative. Both organizations are bold in their commitment to raise awareness and acceptance in socially significant ways. Their goals are to empower families and local professionals in their own communities.
My commitment goes beyond financial support. As a practicing behavior analyst, I understand the importance of providing direct, hands-on clinical guidance and consultation. I continue to travel as frequently as possible to provide support to these centers in county. As trips occur, I'll share updates through my Instagram and blog.
